AIPSSCB Inter-Unit Athletic meet 2013 - 2014

The Petronet LNG ltd. hosted the AIPSSCB Inter-Unit Athletic meet 2013-14 at Maharaja College ground (synthetic Track), Cochin from 20th to 22nd December, 2013.

The meet is declared open by Sh. K Babu Hon’ble Minister for Fisheries, Port and Excise, Govt. of Kerala, chief guest of Opening ceremony on 20th December 2013.The Hon’ble Minister also gave his blessings to the participants in his address.

Shri T N Neelakantan, Vice President (O & M), Petronet LNG Ltd. Welcome the chief guest and other dignitaries by floral bouquets and welcome address. Onbehalf of Dr. A K Balyan, MD & CEO, Petronet LNG Ltd. Shri A K Chopra Vice President (HR/PR), Petronet LNG Ltd.lightened the Torch.

In the three day meet around 180 Athletes from the Public sector units like ONGC,IOC,HPCL,LIC,NLC,BSNL and Coal-India etc. were participated.

44 Gold Medals were decided in 19 Events for Men and 13 Events for Women in the three day extravaganza between the top Athletes of the Country associated with the Public sector Units.

ONGC clinched the Women trophy with 66 points, where LIC wasthe Runner up with 47 points.

ONGC also clinched the Men trophy with 92 points, where LIC  was the Runner up with 38 points.

ONGC was the overall Champion of this Meet with 158 points, where LIC was the Runners up with 85 points and IOC was the 2nd  Runner up with 41 points.

Duttee Chand of ONGC was declared as the Best Athlete of the Meet in Women section and Aniruddha Gujar of LIC was the Best Athlete in Men section.

Prof. K V Thomas  Hon’ble Union  Minister of State(Independent Charge) for Consumer Affair, Food and Public Distribution,Govt. of India was constituted as the  chief guest of Closing  ceremony on 22nd  December 2013.

The Hon’ble Minister distributed the Prizes and declared the Meet Closed.
