AIPSSCB Kabbadi Tournament

All India Public Sector Kabaddi Tournament 2016-2017 was allotted to NLC INDIA LIMITED . The tournament was held from 16.03.2017 to 18.03.2017 at Neyveli Township.

6 teams participated, which are NLC , ONGC ,BSNL ,HINDUSTAN AERONAUTICS ,COAL INDIA,ESIC.

The Managers’ meeting was held on 16th March 2017 at 10:00 Hrs wherein the teams were divided into two Pools as under:

ONGC	ESIC	BSNL
	Pool –B
HAL	COAL INDIA	NLC INDIA

 

Referees from Tamilnadu Amateur Kabaddi Association including International referee ShriGopalan, convener Referees board were invited to conduct the matches. They narrated rules pertaining to the tournament in the Mangers meeting.Shri.I.Nedumaran, DGM/Education,Sports& Culture in the presence of Shri.R.Mohan, CGM/CSR/Education,Sports& Culture addressed the representatives of participating teams and sought above the arrangements made for the teams. 

The tournament was inaugurated by Dr.S.K.Acharya, Chairman and Managing Director, NLC India Limited on 16th March 2017 at 18:30 Hrs. Functional Directors and Senior Executives had attended the inaugural function and witnessed the matches.

The Kabaddi matches were held on MAT surface with flood light facilities. From the preliminary league matches ONGC, BSNL, Coal India and BSNL moved to Semi-finals.

The Semi-finals between ONGC and Coal India ended with a fine victory for ONGC with a score of 28-09whereas, in the other Semi-finals BSNL narrowly scored over HAL with a score of 37-33.

The finals were held on 18th March 2017 between ONGC and BSNL in the presence of large spectators. ONGC excelled in the tournament by defeating BSNL with a score of 36 to 22.

The prize giving ceremony was held immediately after the matches. CMD, NLC India Limited presented the Winners Trophy to ONGC Kabaddi team. Shri.Subir Das, Director (Mines) gave away the Runners up Trophy to BSNL team. Shri.V.Thangapandian, Director (Power) and Shri.R.Vikraman, Director (HR) presented the trophies and medals to joint third placed teams HAL and Coal India Limited. The Prize distribution function was followed by a dinner hosted by NLC India Limited.

The participating teams have shown exemplary team spirit and shown their complete Sportsmanship. The tournament went off very well without any protest or dispute thanks to the participating teams and officials who had officiated tournament in a professional manner.
