In the Annual General Body Meeting of the Board held on 7th November, 2021 it was decided to revive the sporting activities, which had been affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Taking the lead the Board itself organized the first event of the Financial year 2021-22, namely the AIPS T-20 Cricket Tournament with financial assistance from ONGC at Gurgaon from 20th to 24th December, 2021.
The glittering trophies to be awarded in the tournament were displayed / unveiled at the Press Briefing held on 15th December, 2021 by Shri Subhash Kumar, President of the AIPSSCB / C&MD-ONGC in the presence of Shri H.S.P. Singh, Vice President (AIPSSCB) / Executive Director (ONGC) Shri Gian Batra, General Secretary (AIPSSCB)/General Manager (HR) - AAI and Shri O.P. Dani, Treasurer (AIPSSCB) / CGM (FCI). International cricketers Mr. Amit Mishra, Mr. Parveen Kumar, Mr. Sarandeep Singh and Mr. Amit Bhandari were also present on the occasion.

The tournament was inaugurated by Shri Rohan Jaitley, President Delhi & District Cricket Association at Backyard Sports Club, Sector – 59, Gurgaon one of the venues on 20th Dec., 2021 in the presence of Shri Gian Batra, General Secretary(AIPSSCB), Shri Shyam Sharma, Director – DDCA, Shri V.P. Singh, Head Sports ONGC, Shri V.K. Mahendru, former General Secretary & Advisor of the Board, Shri T.V. Subramaniam former Treasurer & Advisor, Shri Ramesh Sachdeva, former General Secretary & Consultant (AIPSSCB), participants, officials of the tournament as also the media. Shri Gian Batra, General Secretary (AIPSSCB) welcome the distinguished guests, participants of the AIPS T20 Cricket Tournament, officials contacted with tournament & media persons. He expressed his sincere thanks to Chief Guest Shri Rohan Jaitley who has specially preponed his return journey to Delhi from Hyderabad to be present in the Inauguration ceremony of the tournament.
In his brief speech Mr Rohan Jaitley expressed his happiness that the AIPSSCB had taken a lead in organizing a sporting event after the long break due to COVID 19 which would go a long way in inspiring all concerned in the field of sports.
AIPS Cricket Tournament attracts participation of leading players of the country who are employed by the various member organizations /promoted under their scholarship, contract schemes. In the past Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Ishant Sharma, Ajay Jadeja, Rajesh Chauhan, Narender Hirwani, Paveen Kumar, Munaf Patel, Waseem Zaffar, Abhijeet Kale, Rishi Dhawan & many more have represented their respective Organizations. Being a tournament attracting top level participation the upcoming cricketers who are associated with the member organizations get the much needed exposure.
The tournament was played on league – cum – knock out basis at two different grounds having very good facilities including lights namely Backyard Sports Club and Dome Cricket Ground, Gurgaon. Although the matches were scheduled to be played in day time, lights were used in some matches in view of early fading light due to the winter season.
Reserve Bank of India were the winners of the tournament (incidentally for the first time) beating Bank of Baroda in the final. Earlier in the semi finals Bank of Baroda prevailed over Airports Authority of India while Reserve Bank of India to the better of Air India.
Kuldeep Hooda of RBI was adjudged the Man of the Tournament, Chetan Bisht of Bank of Baroda the Best Batsman of the Tournament and Mohit Jangra of AAI the Best Bowler of the Tournament Award. Sumit Ghandigavkar of Reserve Bank of India was adjudged the Man of the Match of the finals.
The prizes of the tournament were given away by Shri H.S.P Singh, Vice President (AIPSSCB), Shri Gian Batra, General Secretary (AIPSSCB). Smt.
