AIPSSCB Volleyball Tournament

All India Public Sector Volleyball Tournament 2015-2016 was allotted to LIFE INSURANCE CORPORATION OF INDIA and the same was allotted by  CO / HRD / Sports to Southern Zonal office , Chennai. The tournament was held from 04.01.2016 to 07.01.2016 at Nehru Stadium, Chennai.

5 teams participated, which are LIC , BSNL , COAL INDIA , OIL INDIA , NLC.

On 04.01.2016 the tournament was inaugurated at 9.00 hrs. The inaugural function was attended by Sri. T. Sitharthan , Zonal Manager , Sri. Rajkumar , Executive Director (HRD) , Smt.Poonguzhali , Chief General Manager (BSNL) , Tamilnadu circle. Sri.T.Sitharthan , Zonal Manager gave the welcome address Smt.T.Poonguzhali  , BSNL gave the felicitation address and Sri.Rajkumar , ED sir gave the inaugural address.

The match was conducted in league cum final round with five teams playing with each other for the first three days and the finals was held on 07.01.2016 at 14.30 hrs. The results of the league matches are as under.

On 07.01.2016 the final match was played between BSNL and LIC and LIC Has won the ALL India Public sector Volley ball tournament. The scores were 22-25 , 25-13 , 25-21 , 25-20 ( 3 – 1 ).

The valedictory function was held at 17.00 hrs on 07.01.2016. The guest of honour for the function was Sri.T.Sitharthan, ZM. He gave away the prizes for the winners and runners of the tournament and gave valedictory address. After giving the prizes he declared the meet closed. This was followed by lowering of AIPSSCB flag and the corporate flag. These flags were handed over to RM(HRD) for safe custody.  The function came to an end after singing national anthem.

The south zone hosted dinner in the same venue on 07.01.2016 at 7 pm.
