AIPSSCB Volleyball Tournament

ONGC Chennai conducted AIPSSCB Volleyball tournament at Jawahar lal Nehru Indoor Stadium,Chennai from 6th to 9th March2014 in a grand manner.

Dr. B S Josyulu, ED- Basin Manager Cauvery along with Mr. S K Wadhani, Head-HR/ER, Chennai inaugurated the tournament.

Eight teams of PSU ie IOB, LIC, BSNL, Coal India Ltd, BHEL,Nalco,Oil India and ONGC participated and matches were played on league cum knock out basis. Semifinal matches were played between LIC v/s IOB and ONGC v/s BSNL. The third place went to LIC to beat BSNL in straight sets 3-0.

Final match was played between IOB v/s ONGC. ONGC team played brilliantly and performed extraordinary in the match and won the match to beat IOB by 3-1 sets (25-17,22-25,25-19,25-22).

The stander of tournament was very high, top International players of ONGC, IOB and BSNL were played under the rules & regulation of VFI.

Mr. G. Karuppuswamy, ED-Basin Manager KG-PG was the Chief Guest of final match.

Being an observer of tournament, I like to suggest that for the glory of AIPSSCB, we should try to get direct affiliation from VFI for the participation of AIPSSCB volleyball team in National level tournaments under the flag of AIPSSCB.
